These are the Minutes of the 168th AMCC meeting held at held at The Admiral’s Inn in Ogunquit, Maine on Saturday, 10/22/11, in conjunction with the Harbor Masters of Maine 29th Anniversary and “Sail Away” run. CALL TO ORDER President Steven James called the meeting to order at 1:02 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: DC Bear Club, DC boys of Leather, Empire City MC, Excelsior MC, Harbor Masters of Maine, Iron Guard BC, Long Island Ravens MC, NE Pennsylvania Leathermen, Pennsmen, Philadelphians MC, Reading Railmen, ShipMates Club of Baltimore and Twilight Guard. Proxy: Bucks MC (Empire City MC), Centaur MC (DCBC), COMMAND MC (DC boys of Leather), Knight Hawks of Virginia (Twilight Guard) and SNC London (to AMCC President) Absent: Highwaymen TNT, Pocono Warriors, Potomac MC and TBLC Quorum was present. MINUTES A proposal to accept the Minutes of the 167th meeting was moved by Twilight Guard, 2nd by DC Bear Club -motion passed. OFFICERS’ REPORTS Secretary’s report: The Secretary distributed minutes of the previous meeting and the updated contact sheet to Council members in attendance. Treasurer’s report: The Treasurer indicated as of 10/1/11, Council had a cash balance of $1,792.39. Treasurer has AMCC patches for sale for $3.00 each. Vice President’s report: The Outreach Committee meeting was held on Friday night: The AMCC Facebook (FB) page is up and running. Please be sure to read the posting procedures contained within the FB page – there are currently four administrators managing the FB content (AMCC Secretary, Outreach Co-Chairs & Chaz Antonelli from ECMC). A motorcycle sub-committee was reformed to address AMCC motorcycle rider membership. Mike Conley (LI Ravens) and Chaz Antonelli (ECMC) will work to develop outreach geared towards biker members of Council. The committee reinforced one of the benefits to us all being part of Council was if a member Club needed advice or guidance, the Outreach Committee was there to help with any general issues and to contact E-Board if assistance is needed. The site for 2012 All-AMCC bar night will be discussed under new business. President’s report: A moment of remembrance was observed for past AMCC members Rob Hewes and Mel Jacobs. Welcomed all to Ogunquit and offered thanks to the Harbor Masters for a fun weekend and the gorgeous weather. Reminded Council that the 169th AMCC meeting would be held in Long Island and those Clubs interested in hosting the 170th would need to make sure the meeting was at least 60 days after the 169th – all meeting request need to be submitted 30 days prior to 169th, which would be 2/16/12. COMMITTEE REPORTS Outreach Committee: See Officers’ Report above. Historian’s Committee: No report at this time. Web Committee: Recognized that current AMCC website is out of date, both technically and aesthetically. A glitch with new software is being addressed. Reminder was made to all member Clubs of the policy that a link back to the AMCC website be visible on each member Club’s web site. It was noted that the Pocono Warriors and the Knight Hawk of Virginia club websites were currently out of commission. The Webmaster asked if the Highwaymen TNT, TBLC and DC boys could check their link back to AMCC pages and address any concerns. OLD BUSINESS Amendments and additions to the 2011 sanction calendar – there were none to report. 2012 sanction calendar - A proposal to accept the 2012 Sanction calendar (to date) was moved by Reading Railmen, 2nd by DC Bear Club -motion passed. A request was made to each member Club to advertise the AMCC meetings/sanctioned events on respective club websites. OTHER OLD BUSINESS At the time of the 168th meeting, all 2011 AMCC certification were received. A request for 2012 certifications will be mailed by the Secretary before the 169th meeting. The 2012 Mel Jacobs Award of Excellence DC boys of Leather nominated Twilight Guard for their Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory cocktail party at LI Ravens 19th Anniversary run. DC Bear Club nominated Iron Guard for their 36th Anniversary invitations. After a vote of Council members present, the 2012 Mel Jacobs Award of Excellence was awarded to Twilight Guard. The 2012 Torrid Tuber The Philadelphians MC and DC Bear Club both nominated Twilight Guard for their Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory cocktail party at the LI Ravens 19th Anniversary run. After a unanimous vote, the 2012 Torrid Tuber was also awarded to Twilight Guard. NEW BUSINESS Location of the 169th and subsequent meetings: The 169th meeting of the AMCC will be hosted by the Long Island Ravens MC and held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 in Ronkonkoma, NY during their 20th anniversary run. There were no active requests to host the 170th meeting. (Requests for the 170th meeting should be submitted in writing to the Vice-president no later than 30 days prior the 169th meeting and a member of the requesting Club must be registered on the event and attend the AMCC meeting at which the request is discussed). 2012 All-AMCC Bar Night – The DC boys of Leather made a motion to host the 2012 All-AMCCbar night at the DC Eagle on 8/11/12 in Washington DC - , 2nd by DC Philadelphians MC -motion passed. All DC area Council Clubs will coordinate efforts to organize the bar night, member Club responsibilities (50/50, raffles, etc.) will be addressed at the 169th meeting. CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS DCBC congratulated the Harbor Masters and advised 12/10 is the annual DCBC trek to Longwood Gardens, followed by an after party at Angelo & Glenn’s home. Reminded all of Santa Saturday for the Bucks MC is in Asbury Park on 11/26. DC boys of Leather congratulated the Harbor Masters. The 1st Thursday is the monthly DC boys “boys night out” event at the DC Eagle. The 2nd Sunday is the monthly Mid Atlantic Kennel Korp’s “Puppy Park” at the DC Eagle as well. Empire City MC congratulations and thanks for a great weekend. If you are considering a bar night in NY this upcoming year, please try the 9th Avenue Saloon. Excelsior MC congratulated the Harbor Masters on their run. Holding a bar night on 3/3 at the Bike Stop. Save the date for our 37th Anniversary and Fire Island “Lust for Life” run – May 18-20, 2012. Harbor Masters thanked everyone for attending. Admiral’s Inn is offering a percentage discount if you are planning on returning in 2012. Iron Guard BC thanked the Harbor Masters for a great weekend. Long Island Ravens MC offered anniversary congratulations – great hotel and play space. Party for St Patty’s Day (Drunken fireman, consider it). Fran Jolie is the special guest at the 20th Anniversary dinner. NEPA congratulated the Harbor Masters on their anniversary – 12/10 is Toys for Tots event in Scranton. Pennsmen congratulated and thanked the Harbor Masters. Philadelphians MC congratulations, our annual Halloween costume bar-crawl is 10/29. Reading Railmen congratulated the Harbor Masters on their 29th Anniversary – 1st Saturday in December is “Santa’s Cumming” event. ShipMates thanked everyone for an enjoyable time. Daddy Christmas is 12/3 in Baltimore. Twilight Guard thanked & congratulated the Harbor Masters and thanked Council for honoring them with both awards. 2nd Saturday of every month is our bar night in Danbury, CT. GOOD & WELFARE DCBC advised of the passing of Keith Wilkinson from Scorpions, an active member of AMCC in the 70’s/80’s. Long Island Ravens asked for all to keep Al Lawrence in their thoughts as his illness is progressing. Empire City announced that the 2011 Toys for Tots/Christmas Party event has been re-named this year as the “Jeff Arnold Memorial Toy Drive” ADJOURNMENT The Twilight Guard made a motion to adjourn the meeting, which was seconded by DCBC-motion passed.
